Brother’s Keeper is a story by an anonymous author, and it was the inspiration for Heat-Trace. The author generously gave me permission to include the story in the fanzine of Heat-Trace, but I have not attempted to get her permission for this use of the story. You should read this first, or Heat-Trace will make very little sense to you.

Heat-Trace is a sequel of sorts to Brother’s Keeper. It isn’t a true sequel because I chose to ignore the final scene of Brother’s Keeper so that an issue that is resolved at the end Brother’s Keeper remains unresolved at the beginning of Heat-Trace.
